Invisalign® Can Help Address Mild Alignment Problems

Posted .

Misalignments with your teeth that went uncorrected in your adolescent years can gradually start to worsen. At the same time the bone structure of your mouth can gradually change to alter the alignment of multiple teeth.

As time goes on it could leave you with an increasingly unattractive smile and other dental health complications. Sometimes misaligned teeth in your bite pattern can lead to chipped tooth enamel, dental fractures and chronic problems with dental attrition.

If you have an existing alignment issue with your teeth Dr. Sage White or Dr. Trevor White might be able to correct it with Invisalign®. This popular brand of clear plastic aligners will be designed and created in a state of the art dental lab to gradually alter the orientation of misaligned teeth.

Every two weeks you will need to change to a new set of clear plastic aligners. Each one will gradually move your teeth a little closer to their correct their alignment.

Fitting you for Invisalign® involves examining your teeth to assess their general health and determine the number of aligners required to correct their orientation. At that point we will prepare a detailed impression of your teeth. This will be sent to a special Invisalign® laboratory where orthodontic technicians will develop a series of custom aligner trays.

You will need to wear the clear plastic aligners in your mouth for up to 22 hours each day. With proper use, most patients achieve their alignment goals in six to eight months.
